Note: According to my records I saved this in July 1994, and presumably got it from the "tardis" archive which was then (and may still be) at phoenix.doc.ic.ac.uk/pub/media/tv/collections/tardis/uk I've left it in the form in which I got it for proper attribution Bryan ============ From: pnm@stein1.u.washington.edu (John Rahn) Subject: Re: Upstairs Downstairs Date: 27 Sep 1993 04:38:48 GMT Here is the list of episodes of "Upstairs Downstairs". I have marked with asterisks the 13 so-called "lost" episodes that were omitted from the American version shown on Masterpiece Theatre. The first two series provided a date with each title, as did the last. Dates added in brackets are deduced from the episode content. There is a problem, however, with the dates given from 2:3 to 2:7. The script of 3:3 refers to 1908 instead of 1909, and the latter is proved to be correct by the date of the death of Edward VII. The discrepancy cannot be explained by a "fold-back" in the story line, since season three begins with the return from honeymoon of Elizabeth and her new husband, who were married in 2:7. At the least, the year of the last two episodes of season 1 must be in error, and perhaps some of the preceding episodes must be regarded as out of chronological order, as well. The "fold-back" between the end of series 1 and the beginning of series 2 (see below) may have been part of the cause for the later continuity error. Transmission dates enclosed in square brackets mean simply that the listings given in The Times do not include the episode title, or other information positively identifying the episode scheduled for transmission on that date.
