How to Enter

You lots of ways to enter the race. Each of these methods can be used to enter either the 8k race or the 1k Fun Run.  The important thing to remember, however, is that the entry fee goes from $22 to $25 after July 8, regardless of how you enter.  It goes to $30 if you wait to register at the race site Saturday night (6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.).

Online Registration - Now Open

For the easiest and quickest sign-up, register online. This service enables you to complete your entry and payment with a credit card quickly, accurately, and securely. Note that this service is provided through Sign Me Up Sports, so you will be taken to their website for the registration process.  You cannot do team registration through this online service. Walk-in registration will be available at the following locations and times:

Walk-up Saturday Night

For those of you who don't get registered via any of the other options, you may enter at the race site on Saturday night -- if we have not reached our registration limit. (If we do, we will announce it on the Hot News page of this website. Otherwise, you may assume that registration is still open.) Race-site registration (otherwise known as "really, really late" registration) begins at 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the race site in Rockville. The entry fee at that time is (we warned you) $30 . The earlier you get there, the easier it will be -- on you and on us. 

Entry Forms

You really should register online. However, if you don't want to register online, you can use the printed Entry Form, which can be obtained from the following:

bulletRace brochures, with the entry form, are mailed to several thousand runners in the Washington, DC metropolitan area in early May. If you don't receive one, you can pick one up at Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, during regular business hours (9-5), at RnJ Sports Discounters, and at other sports and athletics stores in the area. 
bulletYou can download and print an Adobe PDF version of the entire race brochure, which contains the entry form.  (Available in May)
bulletWe also have a  printable entry form that you can fill out and mail in.  Photocopies of the entry form are acceptable.

Team Registration

All members of a team must register individually for the race -- at the prevailing entry fee. In addition, the  team captain must complete a team registration form, which must list each runner who is a member of the team. There is a $10 fee for registering a team ($20 if you wait until raceday or if you want to make changes on raceday).   See Team Competition for details on team composition rules and scoring.

Team captains can register a team and pay the team fee online. Alternatively, you may use the Printable Team Registration Form on this web site. Note: You may submit a team registration form before you know who all will be on the team. Then you can call the team coordinator, John Sissala, at 301-340-8107 or email jsissala@comcast.net  and provide him with your team members' names and bib numbers.

Please note that these team registration procedures do not apply to the MD-RRCA Championship Series competition, which is independent of Twilighter team competition. If you indicate a Maryland RRCA club on your race entry, you are automatically included in your club's team MD-RRCA Championship Series.

Checking Your Entry

We will not be mailing registration confirmation cards. If you registered online, you should have received an instant confirmation and an email confirmation message -- so you know you're in. In addition, we maintain a master list of all registered runners (online and mail-in) on this web site. Beginning in June, you can check that we have you properly processed and entered in the race by checking the Registered Runners List.  It may take us a few days to transfer your registration into our computers (even if you registered online), so give it a little time.  If, after a decent interval, you cannot find your name in the list, please let us know by sending email to Twilighter Registrar

Runner Instructions

Your race packet (including your runner number bib) will include your Runner Instructions.  Please take the time to read these instructions carefully; they include important information that you should understand before you run.

Important: Since you may not have time on race night, we have included the complete Runner Instructions here on the website. We encourage you to go to  the Runner Instructions and familiarize yourself completely with the important information there.

Registration Transfer

There are no refunds of the registration fee if you do not run the race. However, you may transfer your registration to another runner, if you follow the correct procedure. If you wish to transfer your registration, please contact the Twilighter registrar, email jsissala@comcast.net    or 301-340-8107, and be sure to have all the registration information (name, address, phone, email, etc.) for the transferee. If you do not follow this procedure, you will show up in the results, nor will the transferee, and this could otherwise mess up the results. We will disqualify the runner, who will also be ineligible for any awards. Thanks for your cooperation.
