Dial-up Changes for Windows 98 Systems
Windows 98 - Create New Dialup Connection

 

 

1. Double click on "My Computer", then double click on "Dial-up Networking"

.

2. Double click on "Make new connection".

 

3. In the “Type a name for the computer” field, enter "Radix05" to identify this connection profile, then click on "Next".

 

 

4. Pick your local access number from the phone list RadixNet gave you (or see www.radix.net/2005). 

In the "Phone number" field, type your local access number including the area code.  Then click "Next".

5. Click the "Finish" button.

6. Right click on the new connection icon that will appear in the Dial-up Networking window and select "Properties".

 

 

7. Click on "Server Types".

 

8. Check "Log on to Network".  Then uncheck "IPX/SPX Compatible" and "NetBEUI".  Make sure that “TCP/IP” is checked. Click on "OK".

 

9. Right click on the new connection icon and select "Create Shortcut".

 

10. Click "Yes" when prompted to place the shortcut on the Desktop.

 

11. Double click on the new connection icon.

 

12. In the "User name" field, enter the email address of your primary account (e.g., support@radix.net).

 

13. Enter your password into the "Password" field and check "Save Password".

 

14. Click on "Connect".
