Dial-up Changes for Windows XP Systems
Windows XP - Create New Dialup Connection

 

1. From the "Start" menu, choose “Control Panel” or “Settings”, then "Control Panel".

 

2. Double-click on "Network Connections".

 

3. Double-click on "New Connection Wizard”, then click on “Next”.

 

4. Select "Connect to the Internet", then click "Next".

 

 

5. Select "Set up my connection manually", then click "Next".

 

6. Select "Connect using a dial-up modem", then click "Next".

 

 

 

 

7.  Enter “Radix05” in the “ISP Name” field and click “Next”.

 

 

 

8. Pick your local access number from the phone list RadixNet gave you (or see www.radix.net/2005). 

In the "Phone number" field, type your local access number including the area code.  Then click "Next".

 

 

 

9. In the "User name" field, enter the email address of your primary account (e.g., support@radix.net).

 

10. Enter your password into the "Password" field, then re-enter it into the "Confirm Password" field.

 

11. Check the box next to "Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the Internet from this computer".

 

12. Check the box next to "Make this the default Internet connection".

 

13. If you wish to use the XP Firewall, check the box next to "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection".

 

14. Click "Next".

 

15. If you wish to place a shortcut to this connection on your desktop, check the box next to "Add a shortcut".

 

16. Click the "Finish" button.
