Configuring Mac OS X For RadixNET
---------------------------------
1) Begin by clicking the Apple icon in the top left corner of the screen
and select "System Preferences" and a new window will open.
2) Once you have opened the "System Preferences" window, double-click the
"Network" icon to open another window.
3) Click on the tab labelled "PPP" to bring foward the PPP menu options.
4) In the "Service Provider" field you can put in RadixNet, or another name
of your choice, this is only a label for the profile.
5) In the "Phone Number" type in the full number of the access number you
wish to use.
You can put another access number in the "Alternate Number" field, but
make sure both numbers you are using use the same login procedure.
6) In "Account Name" put in your RadixNet username, in all lower case
letters. You can put your password in the "Password" field, which will
only appear as dots. If you put a checkmark in the "Save password"
option then your computer will put in your password for you
automatically
7) Click on the "PPP Options" button at the bottom of the current window to
open another window. Under "Session options, set these items as you see
fit. It is recommended to place a checkmark next to "Connect
Automatically when starting TCP/IP applications."
8) Click "OK" at the bottom, and then click "Save",
9) Now click the "TCP/IP" tab. Make sure that the "Configure" option is
set for "Using PPP."
10) Inside the "Domain Name Servers" box, put in the RadixNet DNS servers:
207.192.128.35
207.192.128.36
11) Click "Save."
The setup process is now complete.
Email and News Settings
----------------------
Use the following settings to configure your email software:
Incoming Mail (Pop3 Server): pop.radix.net
Use your RadixNet userid and password to login to this server.
Outgoing Mail (SMTP Server): mail1.radix.net
A userid is not required for this server.
News Server (NNTP Server): news.radix.net
A userid is not required for this server.
Using Mac OS X To Dial RadixNet
---------------------------------
1) Open your application to connect to the Internet, and the computer
will ask you if you want to connect.
2) The modem should dial RadixNet and connect.
4) Type your username at the "username:" prompt, and hit the "Enter" key.
5) Type your password at the "password:" prompt, and hit the "Enter" key.
6) After a moment, if you have correctly typed your username and
password, the terminal screen will disappear, and you will be connected.
7) You should now be able to use all of your Internet software, such as
Netscape, Eudora, etc.
