Configuring Remote Access/PPP For RadixNET
-------------------------------------------
1) Select "Control Panels" from the Apple Menu and open the "Modem"
control panel. In the "Connect via" pop-up menu, choose "Modem Port".
In the "Modem" pop-up menu, select your modem. Close the "Modem"
control panel to save your selections.
2) From "Control Panels" open the "TCP/IP" control panel. Choose "PPP"
from the "Connect via" pop-up menu. In the "Configure" pop-up menu,
select "Using PPP Server". Under "Name Server addr:" enter
207.192.128.35 on the first line and 207.192.128.36 on the second line.
Close the "TCP/IP" control panel; then click on "Save" in the dialog
box to return to "Control Panels".
3) Open the "PPP" (or "Remote Access" for Mac System 8.x and above)
control panel and select "Registered User". Put your selected RadixNet
username in the "Name" field and your account password in the "Password"
field.
4) Within the "Number" text box, type in the area code and number that you
wish to use to call RadixNet:
5) Click on the "Connection" tab and select "Connect automatically when
starting TCP/IP applications".
6) Go to 'Email and News Settings.' Otherwise, click on "Options" at the
bottom of the control panel. Under "Protocol" select "Allow error correction"
and "Use TCP header compression".
Also select "Connect to a command line host" and then choose "Use terminal window".
7) Click on "OK", then close the "PPP" control panel to save your changes.
The setup process is now complete. You may need to restart your
computer inorder for the changes to take effect.
Email and News Settings
----------------------
Use the following settings to configure your email software:
Incoming Mail (Pop3 Server): pop.radix.net
Use your RadixNet userid and password to login to this server.
Outgoing Mail (SMTP Server): mail1.radix.net
A userid is for this server.
News Server (NNTP Server): news.radix.net
A userid is not required for this server.

Using Remote Access/PPP To Dial RadixNet
-----------------------------------------
1) Choose "Control Panels" from the Apple Menu and open the "PPP" control
panel. Click the "Connect" button.
2) The modem should dial RadixNet and connect.
3) Type your username at the "username:" prompt, and hit the "return"
key.
4) Type your password at the "password:" prompt, and hit the "return"
key.
5) At this point the terminal window should disappear, and a status box
will appear letting you know your connection status.
6) You should now be able to use all of your internet software, such as
Netscape, Eudora, etc.
7) To disconnect from the Internet, choose "Control Panels" from the
Apple Menu and open the "PPP" control panel and click the "Disconnect"
button.

Automating Your Remote Access/PPP Connection with RadixNet (OPTIONAL)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1) After successfully logging into RadixNet manually, you can automate
the process by setting up a script in Open Transport/PPP.
2) To record a script, you need to connect to RadixNet in the usual
manner(manually), and then wait for the terminal window to appear
displaying our Annex menu.
3) At the PPP terminal window, click on "Settings" toward the bottom and
make sure that "Close Terminal when PPP is started" and "Prompt to
save Connect Script on close" are both selected. Click on "OK".
4) This should put you back at the terminal window, go ahead and login
manually. When finished, a dialog box should appear that will let
you name and save the script you have just created.
5) Name the script, choose a destination for it, and click on "Save"
to save the script.
6) Go back to the Control Panels and open the PPP control panel. Click
on "Disconnect".
7) Next, click on "Options" at the bottom of the control panel. Under
"Protocol", select "Use connect script". Click on "Import Script".
8) Select the script you want to import; then click "Open" (or double
click the name of the script).
9) Click "OK" in the "Protocol Options" dialog box, exit out of the PPP
Control panel to make sure the changes have been saved.
10) Test the connection script by going back into the PPP control panel
and clicking on "Connect".
11) You can also configure PPP to connect automatically so that
Open Transport/PPP automatically attempts a connection whenever you
launch a TCP/IP application such as Netscape Navigator or Fetch.
a) To activate this feature, click on "Options" in the PPP control
panel and select the "Connection" tab.
b) Click on "Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications"
checkbox, to put an X in it.
c) Click "OK", and then close and save the configuration.
d) The next time you're ready to login, try clicking on the TCP/IP
application first to test this feature.
12) To disconnect from the Internet, choose "Control Panels" from the
Apple Menu and open the PPP control panel and click the "Disconnect"
button (regardless of whether you choose to do step 11 or not).
