One day when hiking, we found a grape, right in the middle of the path. It was one of those incidents that is perhaps not really so strange, but which nevertheless seems to cause a gentle shift in reality. After all, there are logical explanations for a grape in the middle of a path: I'm sure that grapes need exercise too. Still, our reality was altered, as reflected by the blurriness of the grape.
The next day, while hiking in a completely different part of the park, we found another grape, also right in the middle of the path. It looked a little older than the other grape. About the way the other grape would have looked if it were a day older when we found it. Had grapes simultaneously deployed themselves around the park in a single day? How far can a grape walk? Really this was much odder than the first grape, but for some reason it seemed natural. We were getting used to it, perhaps explaining the increased clarity of this grape.
The grapes, however, disappeared just as they had come: we did not see any more of them. Perhaps we should have been looking for raisins.
