7/17/04   It's Raceday! Important Information

It looks like a great evening for the 19th running of the Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest. If you haven't picked up your race packet and ChampionChip, you can do so today between noon and 4:00pm at RnJ Sports (see directions map) or from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the race site.  You can also register for the race ($25 at RnJ, noon-4pm, $30 on site, 6pm-8:40pm). The price for the 1k Fun Run remains $10.

Runner Instructions - Although you will get a Runner Instructions brochure when you pick up your packet, you can review these instructions in advance (See Runner Instructions) or you can view a pdf of the actual brochure.

Parking - Please note that due to construction in the area of the race start/finish, some parking that you may have used in the past is not available. However, there is still plenty of nearby parking (see parking map).

You can still be a Volunteer! - If you would like to volunteer to help out tonight, we can still put you to work.  Volunteers get fed at our pre-race dinner and training, a special volunteer t-shirt, and a great experience. You would need to be there from 6pm to about 10pm. If you're interested, please call our Volunteer Coordinator, Janet Newburgh at 301-251-1640, or, you can come directly to our volunteer meeting and dinner at 6:00pm Saturday and check in as a "walk-up". The volunteer meeting is in the ground-floor cafeteria of the County Executive Office Building at Monroe and Route 28 in Rockville.

7/10/04 - Early and Mail-In Registration Closes

Early and mail-in registration at the entry fee of $22 ends July 8. Beginning the next day the entry fee becomes $25. Online registration can be used to obtain the lower entry fee through the end of the day, July 8.

7/1/04 - Race Scoring Method Change

In past years all awards scoring has been based on Gun Time. Beginning this year, awards scoring for Age-Groups and Team (both open and masters) will be based on Net time. This means that you don't need to try to weasel your way to the front of the start line crowd; your time will be start line to finish line. Open, Masters, and Wheelchair awards scoring will continue to be based on Gun Time.

6/8/04 - Initial Registrant List Up

The initial list of registrants, including on-line sign-ups, is now on the Twilighter website.  It will be updated weekly until the week of the race, when it will be updated daily.  If you have just registered online, you may not be on the current list. However, you can reconfirm your entry at the Sign-me-up Sports website.

5/15/04 - Raceday-Only Packet Pickup

This year, race packet pickup will be available only on raceday, July 16. From noon to 4 p.m., you can pick up your race packet at RnJ Sports Discounters in Rockville. Beginning at 6 p.m., packet pickup continues at the race site. Your ChampionChip must be picked up at the race site.

3/16/04 - Luck 'o the Irish: Twilighter Registration is Now Open!

The forecast for the evening of Saturday, July 16 , looks great for running and partying -- we promise! You can now register online for the 20th running of the Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest. Race brochures will be available soon and will be mailed to everyone who was registered in last year's race.  If you'd like to volunteer, please go to our Volunteer section, where you'll find all the information you need, and we'll put you to work. Mark your calendar.
