17th Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest Scheduled for July 20

Mark your calendars for the 20th running of the Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest to be held on Saturday, July 16 , 2005 , at the Rockville Town Center, Rockville, MD. The event consists of an eight kilometer (five mile) footrace (with wheelchair division) and a one kilometer (.62 mile) fun run. Runners start at twilight and finish under the stars (and lights). Before and after the running events will be music in the Courthouse Square in front of Rockville's historic Old Red Brick Courthouse. Refreshments are provided for all runners, and additional food vendors will be on site. According to Rockville's Director of Recreation and Parks, Burt Hall, "The Twilight Runfest is a major community happening, right along with Hometown Holiday and our Fourth of July ceremony. We consider it our summer evening block party." 

The event is presented by the Rockville Rotary Club and hosted by the City of Rockville Department of Recreation and Parks. The race is conducted by the Montgomery County Road Runners Club. Event proceeds go to support the Rockville Rotary Youth Recreation Fund.
