A long long time ago, I started a silly habit of sending out puzzles with my winter holiday cards. The idea was that the recipients might enjoy an hour by the fire solving these things while sipping cocoa or artificially flavored diet drink. The reality was that often people had neither time nor inclination to persist in gaming around the holidays. Yet I have nailed the tradition to the edge of the mantle, and there it hangs.

I have lost or discarded many of the puzzles. Others are hard to reproduce because they were born of a crudely artistic creative fit. The ones I present here are fairly straightforward and do not attempt to paint pictures. Write me if you really must have a solution, although I may not have prepared one!
