Peter Bogen's Mansion
Built in 1844 from Cincinnati-area limestone by masons brought over from
Germany,
Peter Bogen's
mansion at 230 W. Galbraith Road,
Cincinnati,
Ohio,
is now the nucleus of the
Evergreen Retirement Community.
Some features:

Front: The pillared portico is a later addition.

Rear: There is an entrance to the wine cellar.

Foyer: The entrances to the dining room and living room are to the
left and right, respectively.

Hallway: The room at the end is a later addition.

Living Room: The marble-inlaid fireplace and the frieze bordering the
ceiling are original; the living room is 42 feet long.

Dining Room: Beyond the dining room is the library.
-
Library: The library was also used for billiards.
-
Cellar: The 30-foot-deep, 160-foot-long cellar was used for storing the
juices of Concord grapes from a 35-acre commerical winemaking enterprise.
