Sarah Russell's Grave

This photograph of the gravestone of Sarah Russell was taken on May 24, 1998, and is in the possession of Herbert Arthur Huston. The grave is at Center Street Cemetery. The cemetery is on Center Street (State Route 150) between South Orchard Street and South Colony Street (U.S. Route 5) in Wallingford, Connecticut, at Latitude 41° 27.3′ North, Longitude 72° 49.4′ West.

The monument is inscribed:

	Here lies the body of
	Sarah Barker, wife of
	John Barker and eldest
	daughter of John Russell, Esq.,
	of Branford, who died in
	child bed Jan. 24
	A.D. 1749, aged
	34 years.  Now lies
	here with the infant
	by her side.

Note: The year of death was 1749 (Old Style) and 1750 (New Style).
