    Melody your whole life long,
    The nightingale's her troubadour,
Bringing his sweet serenade into her door

Merryweather: Sweet princess, if through this wicked witch's trick,
A spindle should your finger prick,
A ray of hope there still may be,
In this gift I give to thee,
Not in death, but just in sleep,
The fateful prophecy you will keep,

  11. How does Maleficient try to stop Phillip from reaching Aurora?
She throws lightning bolts to destroy rocks in his paths, creates a forest of thorns and turns herself into a dragon to confront him.

  12. What is the spell for creating a forest of thorns?
Forest of thorns shall be his tomb,
Borne through the skies on a fog of doom,
Now go with a curse and serve me well,
Round Stefan's castle cast my spell!

Yes, she has two short lines:
"And you're not offended, Your Excellency?"
    "Oh, no!"

Other Sleeping Beauty related questions

  1. Is there a widescreen version of the video?
Yes, there is. Suncoast is the only major chain that is carrying it. You might try other stores that carry widescreen videos.

  2. Why does the movie look so funny?
Sleeping Beauty was drawn by the animators in a revolutionary angular style. This was done to resemble medieval art of the time period of Sleeping Beauty. Not only is the movie drawn with very few curves, Sleeping Beauty has the most detailed backgrounds of any Disney animated feature. Unfortunately, the idiotic general public did not take to the new style.

  3. What color are Aurora's eyes?
They're blue. In the film they rarely bother to color the eyes except during closeups. The only time this is clear is when Aurora wakes up, showing very light blue eyes.

  4. Does Aurora have blond hair or not?
Yes, sunshine gold is the best way to describe it after Flora's gift of "gold of sunshine in her hair". Apparently anytime the Disney Company tries to reproduce the color they get everything from a ghostly white to "Thumbelina" orange.

  5. Does anyone have a script of the movie?
Frank Pilhofer watched the movie several times and has composed a very good script. To reach his script, click here.
*Note* This is a big violation of copyright laws to do this. Please do not abuse this site. It is also in Germany so be mindful of what time it is over there if the connection seems a little slow.

  6. Who did what on the movie?
Tim Pickett keeps a running list of people who've worked on every Disney animated movie. I'm taken the list and cut out the Sleeping Beauty workers for our use. Note: This is not an exhaustive list, it derives mainly from Tim copying down the credits in the movie. He also put strict limits on who to include in the list so not everyone is shown. Anyway, click here to see it .

  7. What are the lyrics to the songs?
Sleeping Beauty has about six fairly short songs in it. The lyrics are included with the soundtrack. If you're too lazy, Click here.

  8. What variations of the Sleeping Beauty story are there?
The major difference is that the cursed princess is supposed to sleep for 100 years. The princess also grows up in her parents' castle leading an extremely sheltered life. Walt saw a storyboard for this version and rejected it.

The tale before it was cleaned up for children actually had a different requirement for waking the princess. The prince isn't a very nice person in that version.
